There’s just something so romantic about a couple’s maternity session outside in the fall, especially when the couple’s beloved fur baby gets to join in the experience! When this lovely expecting mama shared her vision for a maternity session filled with colorful autumn tones, we immediately began dreaming up location possibilities. Although it was still early in the season, we discovered wispy golden fields, changing leaves, and, of course, made the most of autumn’s dreamy sunlight! This combination created soft, glowing images that perfectly captured the couple’s joyful excitement and the beauty of early October.

Weeks before the session, we welcomed this beautiful mama into our studio to plan every detail! She was able to thoroughly browse through our client wardrobe collection, ultimately narrowing her choices to the soft, muted blue gown and the long-sleeved floral dress featured above. We adore the contrast in styles and how they added variety to her gallery.

Her husband’s classic dark blazer and pants were the perfect complement to fall’s vibrant tones. While we often recommend a lighter palette for most client wardrobes, there are always exceptions to the rule! This session shows how light and airy photographs can still be achieved with a thoughtful mix of darker neutrals, especially in the fall and winter.
